Dr Bell runs the minor surgery clinics with assistance from the practice nurse.  Many minor surgical procedures such as removal of cysts, skin lesions, and joint injections can be carried out quickly and comfortably within the practice.  These are carried out on Thursday afternoons and are organised by Nurse Ruth.   A referral from a practice GP is required to have a procedure carried out.  Please make an appointment with a GP for an initial assessment.

Cervical Smear Tests

Patients over the age of 65 years will cease to be re-called if their last test was normal.

Blood Tests

If a GP advises you to have a blood test or other investigations with the treatment room (practice nurse or phlebotomist) please make an appointment at reception for this.  The doctor will document which tests you require on your record for the nurse to see.  We advise all patients to call reception for results to ensure that any important information is communicated to you.  Please be aware that some investigations can take longer to return than others.

If a doctor indicates that your result requires further action you will be contacted by a member of staff to advise you.

Please note we do not provide blood tests which have been requested by a consultant at a private consultation.
