Patients who are diabetic are welcome to make an appointment to see the Practice Nurse or any of the GPs if they need further advice or have any concerns regarding their health.
Dr Bell runs the minor surgery clinics with assistance from the practice nurse. Many minor surgical procedures such as removal of cysts, skin lesions, and joint injections can be carried out quickly and comfortably within the practice. These are carried out during designated sessions organised by Practice Nurse Logan. A referral from a practice GP is required to have a procedure carried out. Please make an appointment with a GP for an initial assessment.
Cervical Smear Tests
A Cervical Smear test requires a 20 minute appointment with the practice nurse or with a female GP. Cervical Screening is offered to female patients aged 25-49 years at 3 yearly intervals, aged 50-65 years at 5 yearly intervals. Patients over the age of 65 years will cease to be re-called if their last test was normal.
If a GP advises you to have a blood test or other investigations with the treatment room (practice nurse or phlebotomist) please make an appointment at reception for this. The doctor will document which tests you require on your record for the nurse to see. We advise all patients to call reception for results to ensure that any important information is communicated to you. Please be aware that some investigations can take longer to return than others.
If a doctor indicates that your result requires further action you will be contacted by a member of staff to advise you.
Please note we do not provide blood tests which have been requested by a consultant at a private consultation.
Child Health & Child Vaccinations
All of the GP's conduct 8 week child health assessments. Babies will also be invited by the Child Health Service (CHS) to have their first vaccinations at the practice. Both the 8 week assessment and baby vaccinations can be done on the same day Please advise the receptionist that you are making both appointments together.
When your child is 3 years and 4 months old they will be recalled by CHS for their pre-school booster vaccinations. When you receive notice of this please phone the practice reception to make this appointment.
